Is a dedicated server the right choice for you?

A good dedicated server is a little bit pricier than a shared server but, if you do need certain things, then it really is the right way to go. 

Do you need more speed? -- With a shared server, you will often find your site's speed gets slower and slower as your traffic increases. This is because you are sharing the server with several other websites that are also using some of the server's bandwidth. 

With a dedicated server, however, you will immediately see the speed of your site increases, as your site is the only one using the bandwidth. 

Do you need more security? -- Remember, as you are sharing a server, you will have less security than if you had your own dedicated server.

This is due to the security on your server only being as good as the security of the sites on it. That means, even if you are careful about your site's security, other sites using the server may not be. They can open up the door to hackers, and your site could also be exposed. 

Do you need more server monitoring? -- Most companies offering dedicated servers also offer better server monitoring.

This usually means, even if your server crashes in the middle of the night, it will be immediately noticed and fixed. 

Do you need more control? -- If you have your own dedicated server, you have complete control about the operating system on it as well as other features you decide to us. 

If you want to add more features to the server you are using, then a dedicated server is the right choice for you.
